Insolvency Practitioner (Corporate)
- Location: Remote (UK-wide), Hybrid, or Office-Based (Greater Manchester)
- Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 depending on experience

Joining a successful, growing insolvency practice dealing with asset realisations and antecedent transaction claims against directors of liquidated companies as an appointment taking insolvency practitioner. The successful candidate will take joint corporate insolvency appointments whilst dealing with any claims issued against directors on their cases.
The Role:
Initially, you will be allocated a wide range of cases where a possible claim against the director has been identified. You will be responsible for the management and monetisation of contentious insolvency claims, working closely with directors and legal partners to deliver recoveries via settlement or litigation.
There will be no requirement to win new insolvency work.
Key responsibilities:
- Taking joint corporate insolvency appointments with the existing IP
- Handling a portfolio of contentious insolvency cases from investigation through to resolution
- Identifying, acquiring, and progressing claims (e.g., misfeasance, antecedent transactions, wrongful trading)
- Liaising with the existing IP, solicitors, counsel, funders, and litigation partners
- Negotiating settlements and overseeing litigation strategies
- Contributing to the development of internal claims management procedures
- Supporting the wider case team in managing statutory and compliance obligations
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar insolvency role, with a focus on contentious or investigatory work
- Strong working knowledge of the Insolvency Act 1986 and associated litigation and enforcement strategies
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of contentious insolvency claims from identification through to resolution
- Proficiency in IPS Cloud or similar insolvency case management systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to wider team goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and drafting abilities
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- Commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset, particularly in relation to case monetisation and cost recovery
